Hello, I'm Chris Reddick, founder and owner of Chris Reddick Financial Planning, LLC, a fee-only, advice-only firm I established in 2019 in San Antonio, Texas. I specialize in investment, retirement, and tax planning for educators and public service professionals, including Texas teachers in TRS, university faculty, and federal and local government employees.

I bring a unique combination of credentials to my practice. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER^® professional, I'm held to the CFP Board's standards for personal financial planning. My Enrolled Agent (EA) credential, the highest credential the IRS awards, lets me build tax planning directly into your financial strategy rather than referring it out. My Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®) designation reflects advanced training in turning savings into sustainable retirement income, and my Tax Planning Certified Professional (TPCP®) designation adds further training in tax strategy.

For clients navigating taxes, Social Security, pensions, and retirement account withdrawals, this combination means comprehensive guidance under one roof.

My Background

My path to financial planning was unconventional. I was born and raised in Canada, earned an MBA from the University of Guelph, and hold a Ph.D. in Politics from the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom. I've spent nearly 25 years in higher education and am a Professor of Public Administration at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Teaching taught me how to educate, simplify complexity, and meet people where they are, and I bring those skills to every client relationship. It's also why I understand the pensions and benefits of educators and public servants from the inside.

My wife Cathy and I have two children, Rachel and Abigail (shown below). I love spending time with my children, watching movies, and traveling.
